SCA FALL LITTER PICK-UP – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5

Since 1990 SCA has annually removed trash along two miles of Highway 57 between at milepost 18.5 and milepost 20.5. Our fall litter pick-up is scheduled for the first Sunday in October which this year falls on October 5th.

We will meet at 10:00am. at the north end of High Bridge on Highway 57. Bring gloves, hats, appropriate clothing and footwear for cool weather, and drinking water.  SCA will provide vests and trash bags. Afterwards, we will meet back at the High Bridge parking area for refreshments and good conversation.

Please join us in cleaning up trash along this area of highway.  If you need more information call the SCA office at 208-265-9670. Leave us a message if we are not in and someone get back to you soon.  Thanks!

WORK BEGINS ON GRIZZLY BEAR AWARENESS PROGRAM

Posted August 15, 2008:

SCA is in the process of developing a grizzly bear awareness program with two goals:

  • To provide all or a substantial part of the funds necessary to enlist bear dogs and trainers from and organization such as the Wind River Bear Institute to harass problem bears out of the area. IDFG concludes that this tool is likely to be effective in a given problem situation and has agreed to use it if funding is established.
  • In cooperation with IDFG, provide education and garbage management tools to our members and others living and working in grizzly bear habitat.
